HISTORIC MANTI TEMPLE
Minutes from the Yardley Inn and Spa stands the historic
Manti, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day
Saints.
Built in 1888, the temple stands as a sentinel overlooking
the valley, and can be seen for miles from many locations. Temple
sessions for patrons are held Tuesday through Saturday on the half
hour beginning at 7:30 am and ending at 7:30 pm. The temple grounds
are accessible to tourists who admire the beautiful flower gardens
and lawns such as the one which slopes gracefully down the south
side to form a setting for the Mormon Miracle Pagaent.
MORMON MIRACLE PAGAENT The Mormon Miracle Pagaent has become one of the
nation’s largest outdoor theatrical presentations. It is
performed on a stage setting that is larger than a football field.
It has a cast of over 600 people from the local community, and
an audience that consistently tops 100,000 in just eight performances.
Presented by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for
over 30 years, this spectacular outdoor pageant is one everyone
should see. Each summer the pageant runs for 2 weeks mid-June,
and each night it begins at sundown, approximately 9:30 pm. Admission
to the pageant is free, and the event is accompanied by several
booths and vendors in the community, creating a festival-like atmosphere
with plenty of good food, artisans, and crafts available. |
